Embroidery and Illustration

I love embroidery and I love drawing. So I've combined the two, to create an illustration featuring embroidery I saw whilst interning at Hand & Lock and embroidery from Clover Canyon's A/W 14 RTW collection.

I Really loved the use of chunky silk shaded embroidery on net;  perfectly balancing delicate materials with  bright and bold prints.

At Hand and Lock I was very fortunate to be in very close contact with some incredible embroidery samples, some of which take hours to complete.  Which you can see an example of, in this time lapse video of the creation of Gold Work embroidery for Mary Katrantzou. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FzXuY6Y6COE

Embroidery is very diverse, you can create some incredible pieces from it, I'd recommend trying a course  by Mastered https://www.mastered.com/schools/3.  Where you can try Tambour beading, Goldwork,Creative embroidery and learn about the business of embroidery.
